Letter: They should be given medals (1) - THC4MS
Jane Thompson News and Star, Carlisle
Saturday 23 Dec 2006 WELL this government has always been good at wasting the taxpayers’ money, but the trial of the cannabis chocolate three really must take the prize. How could anyone possible justify bringing these people to trial in the first place, let alone having the whole procedure run on for 20 months? To drag sick people through the courts is bad enough but to drag sick people who are only trying to help others is beyond belief. I could not speak when I heard the verdict, my wife broke down in tears. These good folks should get a medal not be prosecuted (or rather persecuted). Life is hard enough for MS sufferers and to find a woman who is willing to risk her own freedom to help others in this day and age is virtually non existent. Even when the TV interviewed them Lezley was more concerned about what the MS people were going to do now. All I can say is that I have the greatest respect for all of them, they have done a superb job. The law must change, the people with MS know what helps and so do the medical profession and they have done for many years. Jane Thompson Carlisle
