UK: Gran on Trial over dope HaulL
The Mirror
Tuesday 06 Mar 2007 A PENSIONER who backs using cannabis in cooking for pain relief kept four plants in her home, a court heard yesterday. Patricia Tabram denies growing and possessing the drug, despite allegedly guiding police to a wardrobe rigged with cultivation gear, in which the plants were found. The 68-year-old grandmother also allegedly begged officers to take cannabis-laced meals in her freezer with them. She told the court they could have provided evidence that she only used cannabis for cooking. Tom Moran, prosecuting, told the jury they were not there to debate legalisation but "to apply the law as it stands". The court heard during the raid in Humshaugh, Northumberland, in 2005, powdered cannabis was also found in the kitchen. The case at Carlisle crown court continues. http://www.mirror.co.uk/
