UK: Three quizzed over cannabis cafe
BBC News
Friday 20 Jul 2007 Three men are being questioned on suspicion of being involved in running a cannabis cafe in West Sussex. Fifteen people were at the suspected drugs den in Freshbrook Road, Lancing, when it was raided by police. Forensic officers are continuing their investigation of the site, which police said was operating illegally in the heart of a residential community. Police have apologised to the local community for not acting sooner to clamp down on the premises. Following the police raid on Thursday, Ch Insp Lawrence Hobbs said an investigation was needed to gain evidence. It was carried out a day after the Home Office announced a review of the decision to downgrade cannabis to a class C substance. Sussex Police said officers seized what was believed to have been controlled drugs, and would attempt to seize any cash which they suspected to be the proceeds of crime. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/sussex/6907812.stm
