Italy: A woman has had her marriage annulled after her husband smoked

An Italian woman has had her marriage annulled after her husband smoked
cannabis on their wedding night.

The conservative woman from Campagna had been battling for an annulment
for 10 years after spotting her new husband rolling a marijuana joint on
the first night of their marriage.

She has now finally been granted her wish by the Appeal Court of
Salerno, near Naples, after they consulted an Ecclesiastic Tribunal.

The woman told the court she was stunned to see her husband inhaling the
drug, as he had previously denied ever partaking in smoking illegal
substances.

Angelo Rossi, president of the Court, said: "The woman was a girl who
grew up in a very conservative family and wanted a husband who was honest."
