Bulgaria Is Among Cannabis Top Producers in Europe

Bulgaria, Albania and Serbia are the main producers of Cannabis in Eastern Europe, reads the 2009 report by the International Narcotics Control Board with the UN. The Bulgarian Government reported that total 14806 kg of Cannabis were destroyed and 1026 kg were confiscated on 2008. In Albania over 145000 plants were destroyed within 360 operations and 3941 kg of Cannabis were confiscated in 2008. The Board appealed to the governments in Eastern and Central Europe to increase their efforts in combating Cannabis trafficking.
