Cannabis Is Safer than Alcohol

We are delighted to announce our third candidate in London.

Successful entrepreneur and family man Jonathan Dewey will be standing in Bethnal Green and Bow. He had this to say:

"I'm standing as a candidate for CISTA in the coming election for a variety of reasons. Principally, I believe that there are many current laws that make no sense; grounded in outdated thinking instead of the facts.

The criminalisation of cannabis is such an issue. Recent studies demonstrate that alcohol presents the greatest risk of death after nicotine, cocaine and heroin. Certainly the risks associated with the consumption of alcohol have been vastly underestimated in the past.

As a candidate for CISTA, I want to be a part of the push for evidence-based policy-making."
