Selling cannabis through licensed pharmacies and shops will protect cannabis users from contact with criminal gangs that also supply hard drugs and seek to profit from addiction. Taxing cannabis sales will raise £1 billion to fund education programmes, the police and the NHS. Legalising cannabis would save over £300 million in police resources currently spent criminalising otherwise law abiding citizens. It would allow one million patients suffering pain access to medicinal cannabis to relieve symptoms rather than being prescribed addictive opiates. 85 per cent of voters believe the war on drugs has been lost and is costing lives. We need a Royal Commission that will recommend change. To be your MP will be a privilege. I also believe MPs should only be paid for attendance in Parliament, no holiday, sick pay, or pension - a zero hours contract.
