UK: Pride event for cannabis in Preston Park

PROTESTERS are planning an event to promote medicinal cannabis use.

More than 3,000 people have said they plan to attend the Green Pride event due to be held in Preston Park on Saturday.

Organisers Brighton Cannabis Club say the event is intended to promote the legalisation of medical cannabis and "celebrate cannabis, hemp and all things green"."

Organisers have not explicitly said they intend to flout the law, however they have made references to "toking" - a term for smoking cannabis - and promised to "turn the skies hazier" than last year's event.

A similar event was held last year but only a few hundred people attended.
