UK: World Cannabis Day 4/20 celebrations: Crowds gather as free weed truffles given out to public in Glastonbury Tomas Malloy Somerset Live Friday 20 Apr 2018 Crowds gathered in Glastonbury town centre today (April 20) as an event was held to celebrate World Cannabis Day. Free Cannabis, a resident in the town who changed his name by deed poll, read out poetry, discussed cannabis and handed out free truffles made with cannabis to members of the public at the event. A Police Community Support Officer attended the event for a short time after it was advertised locally, but no arrests were made. World Cannabis Day is celebrated across the world on April 20 (also known as 420). At the event, Mr Cannabis said: “This war on drugs in over, the fact that we can stand here, do it publicly, having advertised the fact that it is going to happen." Free Cannabis was handing out a number of different truffles with different amounts of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (Cannabidiol) inside. He claims that the higher CBD level truffles are perfectly harmless for children. He said: “What I have here is a CBD hash truffle, it's actually a legal product. “It's high in CBD but has virtually no TNC at all, so it is safe for children, if you are alright with children eating chocolate, because chocolate is a stimulating drug. “They are made with chocolate, coconut, lacuma and CBD hash, so this is for general consumption for everybody." Mr Cannabis was also giving out truffles with a higher level of THC, the chemical responsible for most of the psychological effects of marajuana. He said: "For pain relief, higher levels of THC are more beneficial. "Not technically legal, but I am in a public space, where I am acting under common law, and under common law I assert my right to share a natural plant medicine with a fellow human being, who I am fully aware, benefits from this plant medicine. “The thing is everyone has a different response to THC, I love having THC in my body, the effect of it is profoundly beautiful and amazing, and for other people, it gives them more profound pain relief." A steady stream of people came to listen to Mr Cannabis at the event held near the town monument at Market Place, and many took up the option of a free cannabis truffle. https://www.somersetlive.co.uk/news/somerset-news/world-cannabis-day-420-celebrations-1482161
