THE Norwich-based Legalise Cannabis Alliance has declared a donation of £7,800 to the Electoral Commission.

I was thinking that would keep national co-ordinator Alun Buffry and his friends in Rizla for a while, but it turns out that, in fact, this is the amount of free advertising the party has been given in Weed World magazine.

Mr Buffry tells me he has also managed to line up some free advertising with imaginatively-titled rival publication Red Eye Express.

And if the fund-raising keeps going well, the party might be able to get enough candidates together to qualify for a party political broadcast by the next General Election.
