This was in response to the letter below

Dear (Insert the full name of your MP here),
As a constituent and a supporter of the Seed our Future campaign, I would like to bring your attention to the results of their extensive research and critical analysis of freedom of information requests carried out by this organisation. In which they conclude that cannabis prohibition not only has devastating effects upon individuals but also our society, our environment, and our economy. Their report exposes the sheer lack of evidence to support cannabis laws in the UK as per the 1971 Misuse of Drugs Act and the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001. I wish to take this opportunity to make you aware that when you respond to your constituents in regard to cannabis laws and you provide the Home Office’s generic response below, you are in fact providing false and misleading information which breaches the Nolan principles or the ‘Seven Pillars of Public Life’ to which you have a duty to uphold as a public office holder. Consequently, ignoring information which is in the public interest is also a breach of your employment contract and is tantamount to Misconduct in Public Office. Generic Home Office Response:
“The Government has no intention of legalising cannabis. Cannabis is controlled as a Class B drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 as there is clear scientific and medical evidence that cannabis is a harmful drug which can damage people’s mental and physical health, and harms individuals and communities.” I urge you to read the following reports and reply forthwith, stating your intentions to rectify the current situation:

Please note:
Inaction within 14 days of this correspondence will be viewed as a serious breach of your employment contract and this may lead to an investigation against you.

We apologise for the tone of this correspondence as we envisage that you rely on the information you receive from the Home Office and the ACMD, however, as you have now been passed this additional information it is your duty to carry out due-diligence and act in accordance with the demands of your position.

I look forward to your response,
Regards,
