UK: Police raid home of cannabis cook, 66

Martin Wainwright

The Guardian

Tuesday 20 Sep 2005

---

Patricia Tabram, 66, who supplied friends with casseroles, soups and
cakes incorporating cannabis, was raided yesterday by police who
confiscated four plants. Mrs Tabram, of Hexham, who was given a
six-month suspended sentence last year, had insisted that the drug
dealt with back pain and depression better than conventional
treatments. Yesterday she said: "I've never successfully grown a
cannabis plant - the leaves of these were starting to go brown and
die. But I don't want to have to go to a local criminal for my
supply. I'm just an old, grey, tubby grandma but I'm going to fight this."
