UK: Macca 'kicked cannabis for Heather'
The Scotsman
Monday 23 Jan 2006 Sir Paul McCartney's wife Heather Mills would not have married him if he still had a habit of smoking cannabis every day, she has revealed. The 37-year-old told the Observer Magazine that she had strong feelings on the subject because of her history of helping addicts. She said the rocker and his first wife Linda had smoked the drug every day "for the whole of their lives together" but added that she was not so keen. "I would not get married to him if he was taking drugs. I hate it. I counselled people on drugs," she told the magazine. "I could not have him lying to our child about not taking drugs and then going out for a sneaky puff." Asked by the interviewer if Sir Paul had problems giving up, she replied: "He says he had a good incentive."
