No connection between cannabis use and crime

I AM not surprised at the anger at the lenience of the sentence handed
out to career criminal Kevin Matthews.

There can be only one reason for locking a person up and that is if he
is a threat to individuals and a threat to society, which Matthews
obviously is. We have a Government and judiciary who are more
determined to lock up harmless cannabis smokers than violent criminals.
There are more than 1,000 cannabis-only prisoners in this country.
Recent research has shown there is no real connection between cannabis
use and crime other than being in possession of cannabis itself.
