US: Steve Kubby's Marinol supply is running out. May die in jail.
Bay Area IndyMedia
Sunday 05 Feb 2006 Marinol (THC, a cannabinoid found in cannabis) is costly, and Michele Kubby reports that they need money for more in a few days before they run out. Marinol is legal, yet the jail will not pay for it. Even though jails are supposed to provide medical care and drugs in jail. The Kubbys are broke, and Steve could risk death again from a blood pressure spike from the adrenaline produced by his cancerous adrenal glands if he doesn't continue to use cannabinoids. Steve almost died the first day in jail when he was without the use of any cannabinoids. Michele Kubby reports at kubby.com that the jail is not paying for his Marinol, and that they do not have enough Marinol. http://www.kubby.com Jails are supposed to provide medical care and drugs. Marinol is a legal drug. But the authorities hate even admitting that Marinol (THC, a cannabinoid) works. Marinol is very expensive, and Michele is asking for help in paying for it. The Kubbys are broke. Don't ever forget that Steve Kubby almost died the first day or 2 in jail. He reported the worst blood pressure attack he could remember, blood in his urine, and was starting to go blind in one eye for awhile. The authorities are quite willing to let him die. They have proved that the last 2 times that he has been jailed in the Placer County jail in Auburn, California. Info quoted below is from the kubby.com homepage. Quote: ---------------------------------------------------- CONTACT FROM MICHELE TODAY: 2-4-06 6-day EMERGENCY! Michele just called me with some information. Steve is not going after the use of the whole plant instead of Marinol. The reason for this is because in order to actually receive the whole plant, he would have to say that the Marinol was not working at all. Since the Marinol is controlling his Blood Pressure, Steve would have to perjure himself in order to get the whole plant. Placer was going to argue that the Marinol was working and that he could keep using it instead of receiving the whole plant. He didn't want to lie and open that can of worms, so he just decided to drop the motion. However, there are more important things right now. Steve has 6 more days of medicine left. A company in Canada has volunteered to send some medicine to Michele for Steve to be able to use while incarcerated, but it has not arrived yet. The jail is not going to provide Marinol to Steve, an Michele does not have the money to obtain the amounts needed for Steve. If you know of a Cancer Foundation that can help Steve get the medicine he needs and the proper treatment, please email me right away at jeremy@freecanadianparty.org and I will get in touch with them to see what they might be able to do for Steve. --------------end of quote------------------
