The Australian manager of small resort hotel on the Indonesian Island of
Lombok is facing a possible ten year jail sentence for possession of
cannabis and cannabis seeds.

Our correspondent in Jakarta, Peter Cave, says according to police in
Lombok, which lies next to Bali on the Indonesian Archipelago, Barbara
Cathleen Higgs runs the Bulan Baru resort with her husband.

She has been charged with possession of about 50 grams of cannabis and
two small bags of seeds.

Police say the woman, aged 43, was arrested on Sunday at her house at
Sengigi Beach.

The couple who run the hotel, which is popular with Australian tourists,
have been residents for about five years.
