NORWICH, N.Y. Police say it appears more upstate marijuana growers are
opting for year-round indoor operations.
A state police investigator says many of those interested in cultivating
cannabis have been forced inside because of more frequent aerial
surveillance.

Authorities say a mobile home in Chenango County was being used to grow
hundreds of pot plants. Last weekend, a state police narcotics
enforcement team raided the place in the town of Columbus and seized 260
plants.

Police say 41-year-old Albert Cota of Brookfield in Madison County --
the owner of the mobile home -- was charged with felony marijuana
possession. He also was charged with growing cannabis by an unlicensed
person, a misdemeanor.
