Wales: 40,000 UKP drug haul

Wednesday 05 Apr 2006 £40,000 drug haul CUSTOMS officers were last night questioning a man and woman after cannabis worth more than £40,000 was seized at Holyhead Port. Special Branch officers stopped and searched an Audi convertible car as it was about to board a Stena ship destined for Dun Laoghaire. A search revealed three bin bags with bars of cannabis weighing 27kg hidden in the car's recess. A 32 year-old man from the West Midlands and a 43 woman from Hertfordshire were last night being questioned. Further inquiries into the seizure are under way by Customs officers.
