Israel: A cannabis plant is not the enemy
Jean Weills Medina-Gazette
Thursday 06 Apr 2006 Israeli defense forces will soon be using cannabis to treat soldiers for combat stress. An army statement from August 2005 said its military medical corps and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem would begin treating victims of post traumatic stress disorder with THC, which is found in cannabis. The thing that makes this statement strange is the research is being funded, in part, by the U.S. military and is expected to also have benefits for stroke sufferers. So does that mean cannabis might have some medical use that President Bush doesn't know about? But Bush, being a born-again Christian, should know this. His Bible says that God gave every herb-bearing seed. Maybe he skipped Genesis 1: 11,12 and Genesis 1: 29, 31. Cannabis smoke doesn't contribute to world terrorism. It's the folks that vote for the politicians that vote for combining the war on drugs and continuing prohibition. If prohibition ended today, tomorrow there wouldn't be a terrorist in the world who could make a penny out of selling hemp. So our government must be helping the terrorists by continuing this war on drugs. Stop the war on cannabis. Jean Weills Harrisville Township
