UK: Poilce Raid Cannabis Factory
HemelHempsteadToday
Thursday 06 Apr 2006 Thursday, April 6: Police found a cannabis factory in Hemel Hempstead this morning after raiding a Grovehill home at dawn. At around 6.00am, police entry teams smashed through the front door of a three-storey terraced house in Dunlin Road. Officers wearing body armour stormed the property and found five foil-lined rooms full of cannabis plants. Bin bags full of cannabis, thought to be worth several thousands of pounds, were found drying in the attic. A South East Asian man, believed to be the 'babysitter' of the drugs factory, was arrested at the scene and taken to Hemel Hempstead police station. The dawn swoop on the home followed months of intelligence work based on thermal imaging technology and information from the public. Police said the operation was aimed at disrupting the work of a Vietnamese drug gang.
