Friday 07 Apr 2006 Compressed marijuana with an estimated street value of more than $100,000 has been discovered in a Carenage house following a raid by Western Division Task Force officers. The marijuana, packaged in one kilogramme blocks and wrapped in plastic sheeting, was found in the bedroom of a house at Big Yard during the search at 3.15 p.m. yesterday. The raid was led by Insp Anthony Lezama and included Corporal O'Neil, PCs Fritt and others. Police said the drugs had been brought by boat into the country and likely came from Venezuela. The only occupant of the house, a 31-year-old man, was arrested and was expected to be charged today with drug-trafficking. Police said the drug would have eventually fetched at least $119,000.
