Israel: Hundreds of kilos of marijuana wash up on beach in northern
Haaretz
Wednesday 19 Apr 2006 Two sacks containing more than 200 kilos of marijuana saturated with salt water washed up on a beach near Kibbutz Ma'agan Michael Wednesday. Police assess that this is part of an attempt to smuggle the drugs by sea. The fist sack containing approximately 130 kilos, was discovered by bathers at the beach. The second sack containing between 130 and 140 kilos was discovered several hours later on a nearby beach. Police suspect smugglers, however it is possible that the sacks may have fallen off a ship.
