UK: Medical user jailed
Eastern Daily Press
Saturday 06 May 2006 A man who set up a professional-looking cannabis growing system in his shed so he could cultivate the drug for his own use was yesterday jailed for three months at Norwich Crown Court. Rikki Sayer, 29 bought it from adverts in free papers and sectioned off part of his shed to grow plants using hydroponic equipment. Police found 16 plants when they raided his address In Horning Close, West Earlham, Norwich. Ian Francis, prosecuting, said the plants were about ~ eight to 10 inches tall. Sayer admitted cultivating cannabis between November 25 and January 19. Jailing him, Judge Simon Barham said: “Those who take the risk of setting up a system like this to grow cannabis either for thamseives or others must expect to go to prison.” John Morgans, for Sayer, said he was a hard-working family man who started using cannabis to relieve pain after being hurt in a motorbike crash. It says that Mr Sayer bought the equipment from a local freeads paper. The police often sell off confiscated equipment so that they can bust the person they are selling it to month later i have heard of several cases of this. there is also a dealer/informer based in that area
