UK: Gang link to 7 cannabis factories
James Smith thisisnottingham
Thursday 18 May 2006 A Gang is believed to be behind a highly-sophisticated £1m cannabis growing operation. Police raided seven Nottingham houses in six months, some containing £200,000 of the drug. Detectives say food, music, calendars and other items found suggested the gang was from Vietnam. Cannabis factories were found at adjoining houses in Sneinton Dale. There were 800 plants spread over four floors. The electricity supply had been bypassed in one of the properties, there were oxygen tanks to purify the air and fans to circulate it. Inspector Andy Townsend, commander for Sneinton and St Ann's, said: "These were very substantial grows and highly sophisticated operations." The houses were privately rented by tenants giving false details and paying cash up front. http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/
