POZORRUBIO -- A woman was arrested Friday by anti-drug police operatives
for alleged illegal possession of dried marijuana bricks.

The suspect was identified as Tessie Acquisio, 35 years old, married and
a resident of Barangay Sapdaan in Santol town, La Union. Police had
tagged her as ï¿½marijuana queenï¿½ because of the big marijuana haul taken
from her.

According to Superintendent Harries Fama, Pangasinan police command
information officer and Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation
Task Group (PAIDSOTG) action officer, Acquisio was supposed to deliver
five marijuana bricks (weighing approximately 1 kilo each) to a
poseur-agent.

At about 10 a.m. last Thursday, policemen from the Pozorrubio Police
Station led by Chief of Police Frankie C. Candelario and operatives from
PAIDSOTG led by Chief Inspector Edwin C. Balles positioned themselves at
Penoy Street in Poblacion here.

When Acquisio arrived at the meeting area, she was immediately apprehended.

Seized from her were five bricks of high grade dried marijuana, which
were supposed to be distributed in eastern and central Pangasinan.

This is so far the biggest marijuana haul this year, Fama said.
