Wales: Biofuel options at Royal Show
Steve Dube Western Mail
Tuesday 27 Jun 2006 extract OPPORTUNITIES for farmers to grow non-food crops for biofuel and textiles will feature in this year's Royal Show at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, from July 2 to July 5. The Non-Food Crops Marquee will offer a glimpse into potential markets - with attractions including the new Saab and Ford Focus cars that run on 85% bioethanol. Biodiesel pioneer Rix will have a fuel pump on display and experts will spell out the many biofuel markets. A range of alternative crop uses will also be on display - from lingerie made of nettle fibres to insulation blocks made from cannabis. Dominique Gill from show organisers Haymarket Land Events, said it was a chance to find out how farmers are producing innovative and affordable items that help reduce global warming and are environmentally-friendly. http://icwales.icnetwork.co.uk/farming/countryside/tm_objectid=17296304%26method=full%26siteid=50082-name_page.html
