UK: Fire guts cannabis factory
thisishertfordshire
Thursday 06 Jul 2006 FIRE gutted a four-storey cannabis factory yesterday, raging for more than an hour. The detached house in Granville Road, Watford, caught fire in the early hours of the morning. A neighbour made a 999 call at 3.46am and four fire engines raced to the scene. Firefighters tackled the blaze for more than an hour, finally quenching it just before 5am. Sergeant Lauris Shephard of the western area tactical team is overseeing the investigation into the factory and the cause of the fire. Last week police raided what was Watford's largest drug factory to date. Seizing 201 high-grade cannabis plants with a street value of £80,000. This follows a raid on Saturday, June 17, on a house in Clifton Road. The entire house was being used in the growth and production of cannabis and about 100 plants, worth £60,000, were seized. http://www.thisishertfordshire.co.uk/news/roundup/display.var.822164.0.fire_guts_cannabis_factory.php
