Bermuda: Born again Christian: Drugs are my past

Bermuda Sun

Wednesday 12 Jul 2006

---
Saying that drugs were now in her past, a Devonshire woman admitted a
drug charge in Magistrates' Court this week.

Roselle Swan, 43, of Mary Victoria Road, pleaded guilty on Monday to
possessing a pipe fit and intended for misusing a controlled drug.

The offence occurred on December 16, 2002 on Church Street within 300
yards of the bus terminal — an increased penalty zone.

Police stopped and searched her and her motorcycle on the basis of
information that she had drugs and found the pipe with traces of cocaine.

"I'm a born-again Christian," said Ms Swan. "[Drugs are] my past but
I'll pay what I have to."

She was fined $200 or 20 days in jail in default.
