Wales: Cannabis swoop
Pembrokeshiretv.com
Monday 07 Aug 2006 A police swoop on an isolated North Pembrokeshire farmhouse has led to the appearance of a man in court charged with drug offences. Police say that the raid on the property at Sealyham near Letterston early last Monday revealed a sophisticated cannabis-growing operation in several of the outbuildings. As well as hundreds of cannabis plants – which were later destroyed – police also recovered several electrical generators and drums of diesel fuel. A team from Pembrokeshire County Council’s maintenance department was also brought in to help recover the items and assist with their removal and storage. A police spokesman said, “This has been one of the most significant cannabis seizures in the Pembrokeshire Division. We are very grateful for the assistance given by local authority staff to recover equipment associated with the seizure”. A man appeared in court in Haverfordwest on Thursday 3rd August charged with drugs offences. He was remanded in custody. http://www.pembrokeshiretv.com/content/templates/v6-article.asp?articleid=2732
