UK: Huge cannabis factory raided
Michael Clarke Thisisessex.co.uk
Tuesday 15 Aug 2006 Police have raided a huge cannabis factory just days before its produce was due to hit Southend's streets. Officers are now questioning three women after discovering the extensive and professional drugs set-up, containing about 350 plants, in a house in Ramuz Drive, Westcliff. Four rooms in the terraced house were filled with the plants, while six large laundry bags were also full of "skunk" - the most potent type of cannabis - which was ready to be passed on to drug dealers in the town. The discovery was made after police responded to a suspected burglary at the premises. continued... It marks the fifth sizeable haul from homes this year. Det Sgt Steve Jones said: "We are quite lucky really - we've discovered this just before the cannabis ended up on the streets. "The cannabis was quality stuff. The plants don't always flower, but these had flower buds." http://www.thisisessex.co.uk/
