UK: Cannabis haul seized in raids - Nuneaton
icCoventry
Wednesday 23 Aug 2006 CRIME fighters have swooped on two suspected drugs factories in the Nuneaton area. Officers from the area's crime-fighting team raided two homes in Ansley Common and Camp Hill last week, and discovered more than 50 suspected cannabis plants. Officers also seized a quantity of cash and what they have described as "other items" during the raids on Monday. Inspector Chris Walton at Nuneaton station remained tight-lipped about what was discovered but expected the street value of the plants - if they are found to be cannabis - to run to "a few thousand pounds". The raids were part of a one-off operation conducted by the team called Operation Troy. Two men, aged 25 and 58, and a 56-year-old woman have been bailed to reappear before Nuneaton police in October following the search. Inspector Chris Walton said: "Anyone who has information on suspected illegal activity in their neighbourhood should contact the police. "This information along with other intelligence, helps us target offenders."
