Scotland: £3K dope grower opts for jail
Daily Record Friday 13 Oct 2006 A MAN who grew cannabis in his home was jailed for eight months after saying he preferred prison to doing work in the community. Shaun Turnbull, 33, admitted being in possession of almost £3000 worth of the drug with intent to supply. Rory Bannerman, defending, told Jedburgh Sheriff Court Turnbull spent all his time at home in Hawick growing cannabis and smoking the drug. There was no sale of the drug but he gave some to friends. Sheriff Kevin Drummond said: "Courts try to do all they can to stop people going into custody but you have said 'no thanks' and chosen the alternative." http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/
