UK: Young mum faces eviction
Tivy-Side Advertiser
Wednesday 01 Nov 2006 A housing association is to instigate proceedings for the possession of a single mother's home after she was convicted of possessing 10.4 grammes of herbal cannabis. When police executed a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at 39 Golwg y Castell, Cardigan, the home of 26-year-old Sarah Louise Phillips and her young child, she told officers "I'll lose my home now." And when she appeared before magistrates in the town her solicitor Mike Rattenbury said: "Her landlord will instigate possession orders in the near future." continued... Phillips, who had previous drug- related convictions, pleaded guilty to possession on October 17. The court heard that in September last year the defendant was made the subject of a Drug Testing and Treatment Order. Phillips was fined £150 with £50 costs. http://www.tivysideadvertiser.co.uk/ Letters: aneurin.evans@gwent-wales.co.uk, martin.wade@gwent-wales.co.uk -- WebBooks Amazing Amazon Store: http://astore.amazon.co.uk/webbooks05
