Legalise Cannabis Alliance Legalise Cannabis Alliance
Thursday 16 Nov 2006 Downing Street website hosts petition to legalise cannabis A web site put up to host petitions to Tony Blair has accepted a petition to legalise cannabis. The petition reads "We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to remove cannabis and cannabis products from the Misuse of Drugs Act and associated laws" and originated from the Legalise Cannabis Alliance, a major UK pressure group, and is rapidly growing. It is at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Cannabis/ Alun Buffry of the LCA, who stated the petition said: "The details of the petition are very simply put: This is a petition to remove cannabis (marijuana) from prohibition laws and thus enable consumer protection. "It will run for 12 months. We hope to collect enough signatures to convince Blair to stop punishing cannabis users just for cannabis, only punishing them if they harm others, which would be more in line with Human Rights. "Human Rights law prohibits the Government and the police from interfering with the private activities of citizens unless they pose a threat to health, security or the Rights of others. People using the plant at home pose no threat, whether it be for medical reasons, for relaxation and enjoyment, or as part of their personal religion or beliefs" Legalise Cannabis Alliance PO Box 198 Norwich NR3 3WB http://www.lca-uk.org AlunBuffry@lca-uk.org -- Please sign these petitions: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/search?q=Cannabis+ WebBooks Amazing Amazon Store: http://astore.amazon.co.uk/webbooks05
