UK: Man jailed for cannabis operation

BBC News

Tuesday 28 Nov 2006

---
A man has been jailed for 15 months for running a cannabis farm from an
outbuilding near his home.

Robert Webster, 59, of Stratton Strawless, Norfolk, admitted producing
and possessing cannabis.

He was arrested in July after a police raid found 653 grams of cannabis
worth £13,500 and 227 plants with a street value of £16,500.

Norwich Crown Court heard that Webster denied he was growing the plants
as a "commercial enterprise".

He said he used the drug as a painkiller for his back pain.

The court heard that Webster lives in a caravan near the outbuilding.
