UK: Cannabis dealer, 60, locked up
Shields Gazette
Saturday 02 Dec 2006 A 60-YEAR-old dealer who supplied cannabis to his friends has been jailed for 18 months. In June Thomas Harney received a nine-month jail term, suspended for two years, for dealing the drug. But within weeks of his appearance he was collared with 16g of the Class C drug – and admitted he had been dealing again. Harney, of Fountains Court, Hebburn, appeared at Newcastle Crown Court yesterday where he received a 12-month sentence with six months of his earlier suspended sentence added to it. The court heard Harney had been smoking cannabis since the age of 14. He insisted he saw nothing wrong in smoking the drug and said he would only deal to friends who were already users and would not corrupt young lives. Harney admitted possession of a Class C drug with intent to supply. http://www.southtynesidetoday.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=1111&ArticleID=1911076 -- Please sign these petitions: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/search?q=Cannabis+ WebBooks Amazing Amazon Store: http://astore.amazon.co.uk/webbooks05
