Wales: School expels pupil over cannabis
BBC Wales
Thursday 07 Dec 2006 A pupil has been expelled after being caught with cannabis at a Ceredigion secondary school, it has emerged. In a separate incident at Cardigan Secondary School a "small number" of students were suspended for three days for smoking cigarettes in the grounds. The children have since returned to classes, the school and Ceredigion Council said in a statement. The council and the school declined to say when the incidents occurred or give any more details about the pupils. In a joint statement, the council and the school said: "A pupil was permanently excluded a while ago from Cardigan Secondary School for being in possession of cannabis, but that pupil has now left the school. "In a recent incident, following repeated warnings a small number of students were excluded for three days for smoking on school grounds. "However, they have all now returned to school." The school has 700 pupils. In an unrelated incident it was forced to close for a few days last month after a dozen staff and about 150 pupils fell ill with a sickness bug. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/mid/6217494.stm -- Please sign these petitions: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/search?q=Cannabis+ WebBooks Amazing Amazon Store: http://astore.amazon.co.uk/webbooks05
