Hong Kong Government

Thursday 04 Jan 2007

---
Customs has shut down a syndicate running two cannabis plantations,
seizing drugs worth about $6 million.

On Wednesday, Officers of the Customs Drug Investigation Bureau stormed
a Tin Shui Wai flat and a hut in Pat Heung. They seized 383 pots of
cannabis plants, 10kg of herbal cannabis, and three kg of ketamine.

Two men aged 37 and 34 were arrested during the raids. Customs officers
estimated the cannabis plants could produce 10kg of cannabis buds.

They believed the drugs were intended for distribution in entertainment
venues in West Kowloon.
