UK: Cannabis farm uncovered at house
BBC News
Wednesday 04 Jan 2006 Hundreds of cannabis plants worth £250,000 have been seized during a raid on a house on Tyneside. Police said they found a total of 560 mature plants in every room in the house in Ladykirk Road, Benwell, Newcastle, following a tip-off. They also found drug cultivating equipment including fans and generators during the raid on Wednesday. Police believed they have smashed a "professional" drug supply operation. No arrests have been made. Northumbria Police neighbourhood Inspector, Jerry Barker said: "This was a substantial seizure of cannabis and we have disrupted a professional operation. "We are now following up several lines of inquiry to trace those behind this farm. "We will continue to target the small minority who bring misery to neighbourhoods by cultivating and dealing in drugs." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tyne/6229947.stm
