UK: Cannabis plants fed a 30-year addiction

Wednesday 24 Jan 2007 A DRUG user grew his own cannabis plants to feed his 30-year addiction, a court heard. Andrew Sharples, aged 44, of Padbury Way, Bolton, pleaded guilty to cultivating cannabis and the dishonest use of electricity when he appeared at Bolton Magistrates' Court yesterday. The court heard how the plants were discovered by police on August 17 last year and had a projected yield of 150 grams - worth around £450. The court was told the case formed part of a larger investigation by Greater Manchester Police into the proceeds of crime. Sharples was released on conditional bail to be committed to Bolton Crown Court for sentencing on February 20. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/
