Morocco: 4.280 tons of cannabis resin seized north

Nador (north-east), Feb. 1 - On Wednesday night, the Moroccan marine
arrested a cargo boat with onboard 4.280 tons of cannabis resin, known
locally as chira, customs services told MAP.

The boat, which was arrested off the coasts of the north-eastern town of
Al Hoceima, was heading for southern Spain, the source added.

Two British citizens and a Spaniard were pulled in in this operation.

On the weekend, the rural police of neighboring Tangier seized 1,360kg
of chira as well as six bullet cartridges concealed in a car.
