UK: Cannabis seized in Read drugs raid

CANNABIS has been seized after a drugs raid at a house in Read.

Specialist officers from the Divisional Support Unit, accompanied by
officers from the Ribble Valley Policing Team, swooped on a property in
Hambledon View.

The warrant was executed following complaints from members of the public
about the level of anti-social behaviour in the village. The raid took
place at 10-15 p.m. on Friday.

Sgt Mark Porter, of Clitheroe Police said the 22-year-old occupier was
arrested and later charged with possession of the Class C drug.

"The warrant was planned and executed as part of an intelligence led
initiative targeting anti-social behaviour in the Read and Simonstone area.

"Police patrols have been made more visible in the villages and we will
continue to monitor the situation."
