UK: Humshaugh news (Cannabis Gran)

Gemma Somerville

Hexham Courant

Thursday 15 Mar 2007

---
HUMSHAUGH was invaded last week by the media reporting on the “Cannabis
Gran” case.

Well, not invaded exactly – there were two reporters armed with two
cameras following up the story.

One reporter set up his camera and proceeded to walk towards it, saying
his piece with appropriate hand gestures.

Then, something was amiss and he had to do it again. It was possibly the
two vehicles that passed at that precise moment, there having been none
for at least half an hour. So, he tried again.

This time he was interrupted by a certain black and white cat called
Shearer, investigating the camera stand.

The cat was duly shooed away and he tried again, only to be stopped this
time by the noise of an aircraft overhead.

Eventually he was satisfied and packed up and left along with the
reporter from “the other side”.

The opener to his report? “The quiet, tranquil idyll that is Humshaugh!”
