UK: Police cannabis raid garden

Salisbury Journal

Wednesday 19 Sep 2007

---
CANNABIS plants with a potential street value of more than £1,000 have
been seized by police from a garden in Burcombe, near Wilton.

When police executed a search warrant at the property they found more
than 20 plants, some more than six feet tall.

They also found inside the house equipment and paraphernalia associated
with the supply of drugs.

DC Sonia Marsh said: "There was a considerable amount of cannabis
located at the address.

"Although the plants had not yet reached their full potential, in one to
two months they would be expected to yield a crop with a street value
worth well over £1,000."

In addition to the cannabis plants further quantities of herbal cannabis
were also found and seized.

A man in his 30s and a woman in her 50s were both arrested by police in
connection with the cultivation and the supply of cannabis.

Both of them were released on police bail while further enquiries are made.
