Spain: Two years for space-cake boss
Think Spain
Tuesday 25 Sep 2007 A businessman from Ja'en has been sentenced to serve two years in jail for intoxicating three of his employees with a cake containing cannabis at his birthday party on the 14th July 2005. After dining at a local restaurant, the man invited his staff back to his house where he served up a birthday cake laced with marihuana which he had asked his personal assistant to make. Not realising what it was they were eating, three women subsequently required medical attention. Two were so badly affected that they subsequently required lengthy psychological counselling after one was diagnosed with post-traumatic depressive anxiety while the other suffered post-traumatic stress-induced paranoia. The judge at Jaén court also fined the man €100 euros and ordered him to pay €18,126 and €5,547 to the two most seriously affected victims. http://www.thinkspain.com/news-spain/13802
