UK: Jail term for cannabis producer
BBC News
Wednesday 12 Dec 2007 A man who produced a £20,000 crop of cannabis in Dumfries and Galloway has been jailed for eight months. Robert Todd, 43, of The Grove, Heathhall, admitted growing the drug at Burnfoot House near Eaglesfield. Dumfries Sheriff Court had previously heard the value of the crop disputed with police experts saying it was worth as much as £50,000. An assessment carried out on Todd's behalf put the value of the drug at just £15,000. The debate arose when he previously appeared for sentence. Sheriff Douglas Brown agreed to fix a date to hear proof in mitigation. With the crop valued at £20,000, Todd was sentenced to eight months in jail. The offence took place between November last year and February this year. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/south_of_scotland/7140666.stm -- LCA FORUM invites YOU: http://www.lca-uk.org/lcaforum/ http://astore.amazon.co.uk/webbooks05
