UK: House raid nets 31 cannabis plants
Hartlepool Mail
Wednesday 09 Jan 2008 A MAN has escaped with a caution after a £2,500 cannabis farm was found in a bedroom. Officers from Hartlepool Police's drugs unit raided a house in the town's Kimberley Street following a tip-off from the public. Police say 31 cannabis plants, with a maximum estimated value of £2,500, were found in a bedroom. A 32-year-old man was cautioned following the discovery, when police executed a warrant at the house at 8pm on Monday. Specialist lighting equipment was also found at the address, say police. A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said the man was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis but cautioned because officers could not find any evidence that he intended to supply the drug and the quality of the plants was poor. The spokeswoman added: "We are determined to rid the streets of Hartlepool of drugs. The man received a caution as there was no evidence of intent to supply." http://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/news/House-raid-nets-31-cannabis.3653968.jp
