UK: Man in court over firearm charges
BBC News
Wednesday 09 Jan 2008 A 44-year-old cannabis campaigner from Greater Manchester has been remanded in custody after being charged with imitation firearm offences. Paul Farnhill, from The Leas, Hale in Trafford, was arrested in Great George Street, near the Prime Minister's residence in Downing Street on Tuesday. The father-of-two spoke only to confirm his personal details at the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court. He is due to appear at Southwark Crown Court on 2 April. He is also accused of making off without payment for petrol, and drink driving. Mr Farnhill, a cannabis campaigner who is said to be in "constant pain" because of medical conditions, was allowed to sit throughout his hearing. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/7179484.stm
