UK: Police discover cannabis factory
Cambridge Evening News
Wednesday 30 Jan 2008 A CANNABIS factory was discovered by police after they were given a warrant to search a large family home. Twenty-one plants in various stages of growth, together with dried cannabis, were found at the house in Hooley Place, Papworth Everard today. A purpose-built room for the cultivation of cannabis was found in the garage, fitted with lights, extractor fans and insulation. Inspector Paul Ormerod, sector inspector for South Cambridgeshire, said: "This information came from the local community and has led to the discovery of an active cannabis factory. "This is a good example of neighbourhood policing at work and I would ask the public to let the police know if they have any suspicions." The police said the factory would have taken a lot of time, money and effort to set up. :: A 35 year old man from Papworth Everard has been charged with cultivation and possession of cannabis and has been bailed to appear at Cambridge Magistrates Court on February 11. http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/cn_news_home/DisplayArticle.asp?ID=252728
