UK: 300 Pound Cannabis Fine For Itchy Genitals Man

A MAN who grew cannabis to combat the pain of his itchy genitals was
fined £300 yesterday.

Gregor Spalding, 31, told a court he had suffered for three years with a
persistent itch in his private parts.

He said prescribed medicines didn't fight the pain as well as cannabis
so he decided to grow his own.

Spalding grew seven plants at his home in Blairgowrie, Perthshire. He
was caught when police looking for one of his neighbours smelled
cannabis and arrested him.

First offender Spalding admitted producing cannabis at his home. His
lawyer, Mike Tavendale, told Perth Sheriff Court that his client tried
to grow the drug because he did not want to buy from dealers.

Spalding's doctor confirmed in a letter to the court that the accused
had a "chronic problem" with itchy genitals.
